My newest creation. Unfortunetly the colors are all messed up for some reason. Somehow it got all inverted. I'm sure most of you would be able to recognize this as Robin, The Boy Wonder, from Batman. But this isn't the Robin that most people are aquainted with. Most people know Robin as Dick Grayson. Well, this is the newest Robin. His name is Tim Drake. He became Robin because at the time Batman didn't have a Robin because they either went on to be their own super hero, like Dick became Nightwing, or they died. Tim is an amazing detective and he figured out who Batman is. So, Batman trained him and he became the new Robin. And this is roughly what he looks like. Many artist draw him differently but this is my favorite.

Pete @ 10X Media
Real Estate Agents and Listings

Quiz Answer Finally

Sorry, last week, blogger was down when I tried to post on Wednesday. Anyway, I think that the Amalgam Comics are freaking cool. Sorry, I didn't explain what they are. Amalgam comics are Marvel and DC comic book characters combined to make new characters and stories. I think they are really fun. They were just a fun thing that the two comic book companies did. They did one of those cross over stories where the Marvel and DC Universes crossed and there was this crazy thing that happened in the story that made the to Universes not only cross but combine into one universe. The result was the Amalgam Comics. Of course if you buy the whole story in one book the problem is solved but if you look around you can find the Amalgam comics. They don't have any really complete or complex stories just short one comic book stories. But the art is cool and some of the characters they came up with were really cool. One of my favorites was Spider-Boy, a cross between Spider-Man and Super-Boy. I also like the JLX. There is also this cool cross between Batman and Wolverine that is really cool. Well, I suggest checking them out. This is a good place to look. Link

Pete @ 10X Media
Inside Look At Real Estate

Comic Book Review Day

Okay, so far I've only talked about novels based off of comic books. Well, today I'm actually going to talk about a comic book. Well, a graphic novel I guess. This one is a DC one. Superman: Our Worlds At War is the title. I don't know if the Superman is part of the title but it is mainly in the Superman comics. It was written by Jeph Loeb, Joe Kelly, Phil Jimenez and various; Art by Ed McGuinness, Ron Garney, Doug Mahnke, Jimenez, Bill Sienkiewicz, and various Cover by McGuinness. dccomics.com said this about it; "A new volume including the two original Our Worlds At War collections! Imperiex has been unleashed! As planets are destroyed in its mighty wake and with Earth in its path, Superman is forced to form alliances with President Lex Luthor and Darkseid. For once, this looks like a job that not even Superman can handle! " Lots of characters die and all sorts of really cool things happen like Superman flying into the sun and becoming crazy powerful. I've heard he's done that a few times but this is the only story that I've ever seen him do it. It's got great art but it is one of those stories that jumped around from comic book to comic book originally so there is lots of different art styles. And whoever your favorite character is they are almost certain to be in this story.
Now, I'm not exactly sure what universe or whatever this happens in because the continuity of this story doesn't seem to work with other books I've read and other things that I've heard about so if any one has any insight on this let me know. Anyway, it's a way cool story and I recommend everyone check it out.

Pete @ 10X Media
DC Real Estate

Friday Special

Okay, well, since it is Friday, I'm going to show you another one of my graphic designs. I've recently found out about the Infinite Crisis series that DC did. I really wanted to know more about it so I did a little research on the internet and found out the basic plot and the major things that happened. I really want to read it now. I got the Crisis on Infinite Earths a few years back and loved the story. I really want to get my hands on the full story of Infinite Crisis. It has so many things that changed the DC universe just like COIE did that I want to know the new big changes. I know mostly what happened but I want the whole story. Okay, I'm going to be done now. If you haven't read the Infinite Crisis story than do it if you can and if you find out a good place to buy the whole story let me know. Also look into the lead up to it and the post crisis stuff.

Pete @ 10X Media
Real Estate Agents and Listings

Back on Track

Well, it is Monday, so I'm going to tell about another book. Today, is not going to be a full novel like in the past. Today, I'm going to tell about a book that is a bunch of short stories about Spider-Man. It is called "Untold Tales of Spider-Man," by Stan Lee and Kurt Busiek. It is a bunch of stories that are supposed to have taken place throughout Spider-Man's life that weren't actually in the original comic books. They are written in full story form and not comic book form. I really liked reading these because I had recently been reading the Essential Spider-Man so I knew a lot of the original stories and then there were these new stories that were during that time but I had never read. One of my favorite of the short stories was one of the later ones. It has Kraven the Hunter. Kraven put some gas on Spidey so that he went all crazy and kept seeing old villains, as well as old friends. He knew he was acting crazy so he takes off the top part of his costume and boots so no one can tell he was Spider-Man by his close. He is then picked up by a mental hospital and has to fight an internal battle as well as Kraven once the hunter finds his prey. It is pretty cool how it all works out and the writing is spectacular!

Pete @ 10X Media
New York Real Estate

Whoa, It's Friday

I just realized that I've been a day off on all of my posts because I didn't write on Monday because I was off doing memorial day stuff. I like Spider-Man in his youth and Generation X, and I like the Teen Titans and Young Justice(though short lived). These young hero's that have such a legacy to live up to. Someday the older hero's will be gone and they are the ones that will have to save the world and all will rely on them. Often time the world does rely on them and it is really cool to see their struggles to grow up and lift such a mantle. It's pretty awesome I think. I wish my wife would let me read more of them. It's okay, I've got plenty of books that I have that I still haven't read. I'm a slacker and don't read enough. I spend my time doing other things. Well, I just felt like commenting on that. This one is called JLA: Exterminators. The Justice League runs into some serious problems when a ten year old mistake of the JLA comes back to bite them in the rear. It starts when dozens of new metahumans start manafesting themselves. Some are good and some are bad so they do a good job counter balancing themselves on the good and evil scale. However, the big problems start when the new metahumans begin to show different affects of what ever gave them their super powers.

The things that I personally like the most about this book is it shows the struggle of multiple people in recieving such awesome powers. It also shows the more average normal person side of the Flash and Green Lanturn as they befriend one of the new metas. I also enjoyed the references of the JLA when it first became the JLA. I highly recommend this novel. Look for it at your local book store or on-line.

Pete @ 10X Media
DC Real Estate

Alternate Spidey Design

I just thought I would see what people thought of this style of the same Spider-Man design that I showed last Friday. That is how the Kent's were able to pass him off as their own biological baby. You see Martha couldn't have kids and when they found the space ship with Clark in it it was almost winter and often the Kent's didn't leave the farm all winter so when the winter was over they went into town with their new born baby. It was very believable because Jonathan Kent had delivered many farm animal babies it wasn't too much different with a parson and they had so many miscarriages that their relatives figured she didn't want to tell anyone she was pregnant in fear it wouldn't be born. So, that is a rough explanation of that story. So, how did he stay a baby for that long journey through space? He was in a birthing matrix. His parents never actually saw him as a baby. It's kind of complicated.

So, today's question is on Batman, and it is pretty easy.
What is Batman's nickname in reference to a Chess piece?

Pretty simple huh? As I've been reading more JLA books, I've been noticing how much emphasis they put on how powerful a person Superman is. They say that even the sight of him, his presence even demands respect. It would be interesting to meet such a guy. Now, I know that he is just a made up character and I could never meet him but it would sure be interesting. So much power in one man. Describing him like this makes me think of religious topics. Superman I guess in his own way is like a god among men. Well, I was just thinking about that and I thought I'd share it. I'm done now.

Pete @ 10X Media
Cortez Real Estate

Book Review Day, Again!

Today, I'm going to review another novel that is based off of Comic books. This one is Batman. It is called The Stone King. After a damn breaks near Gotham City, an ancient ruin is uncovered. While local archeologist students are researching this new phenomenon, one goes missing. While the JLA go investigating they too disappear, except one, Batman. It is then up to Batman to uncover the mystery of his missing comrades and at the same time stop unnatural forces from reeking havoc on the city of Gotham. A lover lost is found, only to be lost again as a hero. Ancient mystical threats playing puppet master with humans and metahumans. Can the Dark Knight solve this one, or is the world doomed to be ruled by the Stone King? Find it at your local book store or on line at Amazon.com or other on-line stores.

Pete @ 10X Media
Real Estate Listings and Agents

Another Graphic Design

Today, I thought I would like to show one of the Spider-Man designs that I made with Adobe Illustrator. I think it is kind of strange that the word comic means funny in one way or another. So, I was wondering why when people think of comic books, they don't think of funny books. The term comic books has been taken over by the graphic novel world. I guess that's why lots of people are starting to change that. "They aren't comic books, they are graphic novels," some people will say. I always thought that graphic novels were the longer thicker comic books that had the entire story. I'm so confused. Well, if anyone has any insights on this, please let me know.

Pete @ 10X Media
Real Estate Listings

Wednesday Trivia

Okay, it's Wednesday. I mean they both are regular humans that turned super hero. They both had some traumatizing thing happen with their parents dying. They both have secret identities that don't seem like they could possibly be super heros. They both seem to like to use fear as a weapon against their enemies. They both like to work at night and stay away from the lime light. They both started out and to some people still seem to be urban legends that people just talked about as not real. They both like to work alone even though they do team up with others quite often. (yes, I know Batman has Robin but just ignore that for this.) Well, I'm not really very versed in either of them enough to keep going so, if anyone has anything to add or correct to that, just let me know.

Pete @ 10X Media
Inside Finances

Book Review Day

Today, I thought I'd talk about the book The Death and Life of Superman. This, by far, is my all time favorite book. This is the story of how Superman dies for the first time, yes, the first time, and the struggle many people have and the growth that comes along with it. The story introduces many very famous characters for the first time and it tells the background of many others. We meet Superboy and The Man of Steel both for the first time in this story and we learn a lot about the background of Superman and Supergirl. So, whether you are a huge fan of comic books or not, if you like Superman or are currious about him, this book is perfect for you. It's not to long, in novel form and an easy read. One thing that I really liked about the writing is the author does such a good job of painting a picture of all the characters and their actions. Like I said, I love this book. I've gotten many people to read it and everyone of them have loved it. Well, hope you can get a hold of it. I know Amazon.com has it for sale as well as many other on-line and brick and mortor stores. One of the greatest things, I think, is to imagine being a super hero. Have super powers and rescue those in distress. As a kid I used to think about what it would be like to fly or have super strength of have claws that came out of my hands, or some thing like that. Then I would go around fighting imaginary villains. That was lots of fun. However, now that I'm older and do some times still think about these things, I have wished I had a different super power. Now this isn't some amazing power but I wish I had the power to understand my wife and know how to not hurt her feelings or even if I did, I wish I had to power to heal her emotional wounds much quicker than I can now. I guess this is a weird topic to talk about in a comic book blog so I'll end. But remember, don't forget to imagine. It's healthy.

Pete @ 10X Media
Inside Real Estate

Comic Strip!?

Well, I figure I can talk about comic strips in here too so I'd like to talk about one of my old favorites, Shermin's Lagoon. Actually I'd just like to tell of one in particular. Hawthorn, the crab,(excuse my spelling of names please) asks Sherman how he met and hooked it up with his lady shark friend(maybe his wife, her name alludes me). Sherman says he saw her swimming by and yelled, "hey woman, I like your face. I want you to have my puppies!" Hawthorn then asks what happened next. Sherman replies that she hit him. So, Hawthorn in return inquires how that turned into them hooking up. Well, Sherman tells him that she had to take him to the hospital. Hawthron replies, "good opportunity."
I just thought that was a funny one and I like to quote it sometimes. My wife doesn't appreciate it as much. You can find find Sherman's Lagoon in the Sunday Funnies at least in the Salt Lake Tribune and Deseret News, where you can also find Real Estate for Salt Lake City in it.

Pete @ 10X Media
Clark County Real Estate

Wednesday Trivia

I've decided that I want to make every Wednesday a day of trivia. This is actually a book that I'm reading right now. I havn't quite finished it yet so I'm not going to be able to tell you the end, even though I wouldn't anyway. This book is a novel based off of Kyle Rayner and his first adventure you might say. It is titled Hero's Quest, by Dennis O'Neil. This is basically about, like I said, Kyle Rayner and how he became Green Lanturn and the first "quest" he had. In short he has to save the entire universe from being erased and started over by the Oans, a highly evolved alien race that created the Green Lanturn Corp., among other things. I feel that it is written really well, even my wife picked it up read a little and complimented on the good writing that is done. She reads a lot of books and is a English major in college. Anyway, I don't read much but this book has really gotten me engrossed in the story. It's an easy read so pretty young readers could also enjoy it and it's a novel so parents can't get mad at you for reading a comic book because it isn't one, just based off of one. I have found a few type-o's but they aren't that big a deal. They just need a better editor that's all. Anyway, I highly recommend this book and I'm just so excited myself to see how Kyle saves the Universe.

Pete @ 10X Media
Orem Real Estate

Spider-Man

Today, I thought I would talk about Spider-Man the movie, but first I'd like to show my movie one poster that I designed for it using Photoshop. If I havn't said so yet, I really like working on graphic design stuff. I love Photoshop and Illustrator. Anyway, about the movie: At first I had some bitter feeling toward the movie because I'm a really big Spider-Man fan and I've read the first 130 original issues in the Essential Spider-Man books. Needless to say, I know about Spider-Man and his story. So, I didn't like how they screwed with the story so much because now everyone is going to have the wrong idea about Spider-Man and the characters. I had real issues with just about all the actors and the way they portrayed the characters except JJJ. I thought he was really well casted. My biggest problem was with Mary Jane. I've never seen such a ugly depressed Mary Jane in my life. The ugly comment is pure personal taste but Mary Jane is such a drag in the movie where in the comic books she avoids all depressing things and people. She's always ready to party and have a good time. Well, I had problems with a bunch of other things but I wanted to make this short.
I do have a different perspective on this now though and the Spider-Man movies are amoung my favorite movies now. I was watching a special feature on one of the Marvel movies where they had an interview with Stan "the man" Lee. He talked about how much he loves seeing these movies being made. I thought this weird because they were skewing his stories. However, he said that he loves seeing the ways people create different stories off of his characters. I thought about this and thought, "well, I guess comic book writers are creating new stories all the time off of original comic book characters. Why can't movie writers do the same thing." This has changed my view of all these comic book movies. I now enjoy them for the original stories. Now if they just have a dumb plot like The Hulk, I don't really want to watch them more than once. But once again, that is my opinion.
Please comment back on this, I love to hear people's opinions on these things.

Pete @ 10X Media
Orem Real Estate

The Batman Dream

Okay, today I'm going to tell my dream with Batman in it. It started out with this company that was planning a party where they were going to give everyone a massage. This may seem kind of weird, but you know how dreams go. Then I find out that the head girl of this massage company that was coming in to do this was my wife's sister, and yes, it gets kind of weird, for me atleast. Anyway, the party gets started, and my being a super hero I get wind of the evil plot of some super villian that bribed the massage girls to knock out all the people of the company so he could come in and commit some crime. I make my way to the company and just about all the employees are out. I find my sister-in-law and force her out into a secluded place. I try to talk her out of doing this evil deed but she wouldn't be convinced, so I decided, for some odd reason, to kiss her. It was a very quick short kiss because I knew this was my sister-in-law. Then she says,"is that all?" I was shocked and say, "I'm married to your sister!" She shrugs and says, "okay." Then she agrees to help me free the people. So, it worked. Told ya it was a weird dream for me.
Then as we go back into the company building we are just in time to see the grand entrance of the villian. He shot fire from his hands and starts burning things that are in his way. I never did find out what his plans were because just then, Batman comes crashing through a window. I start getting all the massage girls to help get all the employees out of the building while Batman fights the flaming villian. Once all the people are out I come back in and for some reason my sister-in-law is still in there and she is being held captive by the villian and Batman is trapped some how. I sneak in free Batman and the two of us fight and capture the villian. Batman was very short with the girl and she was afraid of him. Suddenly we see that the bad guys flame pack was about to blow up so Batman rushed us out of the building. As we ran out Batman jumped down some stairs and his cape got caught on the door. I thought it was funny. We got out just before the whole building blew up with the villian inside. My sister-in-law was very shook up and Batman went over to console her but she was afraid of him so she ran to me. Batman looked kind of degected then looked around didn't say a thing and ran off. I started walking off with the girl when we heard something behind us and the villian came crashing out of the building all charded and black and very mad. He came running at us and I got ready to fight. He just ran right past us and we saw him and Batman start fighting. I thought Batman might loose but suddenly Batman just hit him on the head with something and he fell unconsious. The police quickly came and took care of the bad guy. My sister-in-law suddenly seemed to have a change of heart toward Batman, ran over to him and gave him a big kiss. I thought I'm glad she went after him and not me. And I woke up.
So, that's my dream with Batman in it. Sorry it was long. I just wanted to tell everyone about it. Just don't tell my sister-in-law I kissed her in my dream. Well, back to work for me.

Pete @ 10X Media
Orem Real Estate

The beginning

Hello everyone, I'm Pete and I really like comic books. Actually mostly graphic novels because it is expensive trying to keep up with regular comic books. I just like a good story from beginning to end. When I was younger I was able to buy a lot but now that I'm married and stuff I have to put my money elsewhere. My favorite graphic novels are Marvel and DC. I don't read much else. I'm a little narrow minded in this case. Anyway, I'd like to talk about what I know about comic books and anything that has to do with them. For example: a few nights ago I had this awesome dream where I fought along side Batman. It was really cool. I'll tell the full dream tomorrow or something. I'm also studying a bit about graphic design in college so every so often I might post a picture that I've done with comic book characters in them. For some reason I'm very partial to Spider-Man. We also can talk about movies based off of comic books. I'm sure everyone can agree some are much better than others. Anyway, I think that is a descent explanation and introduction. I'll finish now. I've got to keep working at my new job at 10X Media . I hope to eventually be a web programmer here someday but right now I'm the maintenance and facilities guy. I fix stuff and clean. Let me tell ya, it's a blast.

Pete @ 10X Media
Orem Real Estate
